Frequently asked questions

Booking

  • How do I book an appointment?

All bookings are made online through Square. Just head to the booking page, choose your service, and lock in a time that works for you. Easy.

  • I’m not sure what to book!

If you’re unsure, book what feels closest and leave me a note or send me a message and I’ll point you in the right direction. I can adjust timing or services once we chat.

  • I’m a new client — what should I expect?

A proper consultation, honest advice, and a collaborative approach. Bring inspo photos. We’ll create something that suits your lifestyle.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations within 48 hours incur a 50% fee. No-shows are charged 100%. I value your time, and I appreciate you valuing mine <3

Blondes + colour

  • Can I go blonde in one session?

Maybe. Maybe not.

It depends on your starting point, colour history, and the condition of your hair. I’ll always prioritise healthy results over rushing the process.

  • How often should I refresh my blonde?

Most blondes come in every 2-4 months, depending on how bright you like to keep it or how blended your grow-out is.

  • Will bleaching ruin my hair?

Not when it’s done properly.

As I’ve said, healthy hair is always my number one priority. I use K18 Molecular Repair to help strengthen and repair hair from the inside out before, during and after lightening.

That said, if your hair isn’t in the right condition to handle bleach, we won’t push it. Strong, healthy results will always win over rushing the process.

  • Do you only do blondes?

Blondes are my specialty — but I work with all tones. Whether you’re bold copper, bright blonde, lived-in brunette, or somewhere in between, the goal is always healthy, dimensional colour that suits you.

  • What’s the difference between balayage and foils?

Balayage creates a softer, more lived-in grow-out with dimension and pops of brightness. Foils give a brighter, more uniform lift.

Not sure which you need? I’ll recommend the best option based on your hair and maintenance level.

  • I’ve used box dye — can we still go lighter?

Yes — but it will take time. Previous colour (especially box dye) can affect how your hair lifts. We’ll create a realistic plan that protects your hair and gets you where you want to be safely.

  • Why does colour sometimes take multiple sessions?

Hair history matters.

Previous colour, build-up, and overall condition all affect how hair lifts. I won’t rush a result at the expense of your hair’s health.

Haircuts

  • How often should I get a haircut?

To keep your hair healthy and your shape sitting nicely, I recommend no more than 12 weeks between cuts.

If you’re rocking a bob, every 6–8 weeks keeps it sharp and intentional.

And if your goal is growing your hair, consistent trims are key. Skipping cuts leads to split ends, which turn into breakage, which means taking more off next time — the exact opposite of what you want.

Before + after

  • Should I arrive with clean or dirty hair?

Day-two hair? Totally fine.

Day three or four with heavy build-up? Not ideal. Excess oil and product (eg. dry shampoo) can interfere with lift and colour results.

If you’re unsure — come in with clean, dry hair for your colour please!

  • Do I really need to use salon products?

Your hair will thank you if you do. A good shampoo, heat protection, and proper hydration make a huge difference in maintaining your colour and overall hair health.

If you’re investing in having your hair done, using quality products at home helps protect that investment and extend the longevity of your results.

  • Should I use purple shampoo for my blonde?

It had its moment — but contrary to popular belief, your blonde does NOT need it every wash.

Purple shampoo is designed to neutralise yellow tones. Used occasionally, it can help keep brassiness at bay.

But overusing it can actually leave your blonde looking dull, flat, even slightly grey. A little warmth (soft gold) is actually what gives blonde its brightness!

  • What if I don’t love my hair?

Tell me! I want you walking out confident - I’m only happy if you’re happy!

If something isn’t quite right — whether it’s tone, length, styling… I’d much rather adjust it than have you leave unsure.

If you get home and feel like something needs tweaking, reach out within 7 days and I’ll make it right.

Things you should know

• Healthy hair > rushing the process
• I care about how your colour grows out, not just how it looks on the day

• If something isn’t realistic, I’ll say so.

Salon policies

  • Healthy hair comes first. If during your consultation I determine that your hair isn’t in a condition to safely undergo a service, I may adjust or refuse the service to protect its integrity. A plan will always be offered.

  • Respect is non-negotiable. I’m committed to creating a calm, positive environment in the salon and expect the same in return.

Thank you for supporting a small business and respecting the time and care that goes into each appointment! Xx
